Why is it so easy for some people to be carefree, with unlimited amounts of patience? They see an obstacle as a challenge they must defeat, while other people cannot even fathom where to begin.

the impossibilities of life

Our outlooks on life are as varied as our personal style and to each his own. This quote shows that there is hope, even in negativity. Although the impossible seems unattainable we enjoy a huge sense of relief (and pride) whern we have climbed that hurdle – it wasn’t so bad afterall.

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. “- Helen Keller

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do. - Steve Jobs

“Don’t worry so much.” – My Dad

“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.”

“A true father is always there. He is there to spill tears of happiness when his eyes fall upon his infant daughter. He is there with arms to catch her when she takes her first steps or stumbles. He is there to teach her at the youngest age, even though she might not understand half of it. He is there to help her color inside the lines, make her grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, and tie her shoes. He is there to hug her and kiss her on her first days of school, and to walk her in if need be. He is there to teach her and tease her and laugh with her. He is always there to embarrass her, but that’s part of life. He is there to tell her to go ask her mother, when her mother told her to ask him. He is there to lecture her, prepare her for the monster called high school. He is there to put up with her teenage moods and her co-ed relationships. He is there to approve, disapprove, accept and forgive. He is there to give her a big bundle of flowers when she graduates, to smile when her name is called and feel proud. He is there to embrace her and kiss her before she goes to live and learn a thousand miles away. He is there to see her become a workingwoman, to walk her down the aisle (or not, if her independence and stubbornness prevail after all). He is there to watch her grow as the lines on his face grow. He is there to welcome her home, always, and let her hug him and smell the smell she remembers from childhood, the warm, protecting, comforting smell of dad. But most of all, he is always there to love her. And she is always there to love him back. “

A Father Is:

There in every memory
See his love and care
Strength and hands to count on
Freely he does share
Provider, toil so faithfully
To make our dreams come true
Give strong and tender discipline
Though it is hard to do
A Father is God‘s chosen one
To lead the family
And point it to His will for life
Of love and harmony…

A dad is.. someone who

wants to catch you before you fall

but instead picks you up,

brushes you off,

and lets you try again.

A dad is… someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is… someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail.

“A man’s worth is measured by how he parents his children. What he gives them, what he keeps away from them, the lessons he teaches and the lessons he allows them to learn on their own.
Thankfully, there is no measurement great enough to measure the worth of my father. “

“Being a great father is like shaving.
No matter how good you shaved today,
you have to do it again tomorrow.”

Reed Markham, American educator

Quick quote to ponder while you check your social media feeds.

“Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events: Small minds discuss people.

Everything about someone’s success or failure originates from the MIND!

Microscopic minds just plagiarize.
… as if that quote originates from your own mind. “

Patience, perseverance, and persistence

How appropriate. Bon Jovi.

Shot down in a blaze of glory…….

“If at first you don’t succeed,

don’t give up.

Sooner or later you will make it…

as long as you keep trying.”

“Patience is a virtue.

Even the toughest rock can lose its shape

under constant running water.”

“Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on

when others have let go.”

“No pain, no gain.

The road to success is but sheer hard work.”

“You will need to make many turns

and overcome many obstacles

to create the path your desire

“In the confrontation between the stream and the rock -

the stream always wins…

not through strength but through persistence.”

Quote(d)

“Sometimes the things that you don’t see coming change you the most. I guess it only makes sense, if you saw them coming, you’d probably be more ready for them or something. I’d made kind of a habit of making sure I saw things coming.”

Quote(d)

“Myths and legends die hard in America. We love them for the extra dimension they provide, the illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men’s reality. Weird heroes and mould-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of “the rat race” is not yet final.”

Daily Diversion #6: Hunter S. Thompson Wants You….to Drink

excepts from “Tighten Up” by The Black Keys.

I wanted love, I needed love, most of all. Someone said true love was dead
And I’m bound to fall, bound to fall for you. Oh, what can I do?

Tighten up on your reins, you’re runnin’ wild, runnin’ wild. It’s true.

Sick for days, so many ways. I’m achin’ now, it’s times like these I need relief. Please show me how, oh show me how to get right, yes outta sight.

when I was young and moving fast, nothing slowed me down. Now I let the others pass
I’ve come around, living just to keep going, going just to be sane, all the while live knowing, such a shame.

I don’t need to get steady, I know just how I feel.
